5 Ways to Spend Winter in Adelaide

Winter is approaching and rather than hibernate for the season, check out some of the exciting events Adelaide has to offer. Here's our Top 5:

  1. Glenelg Winter Wonderland  - for the month of July, the Winter Wonderland returns to Glenelg with a huge ice rink installed on Moseley Square. A great opportunity to share with the family and embrace the Winter at Adelaide's popular beach.
  2. Whale Watching - every winter, the Southern Right Whales return to South Australia along the southern Fleurieu Peninsula. Just an hours drive from Adelaide, why not pack a picnic and some binoculars to catch a glimpse of the whales along the coastline! Check out the whale sightings log for further info.
  3. Drinking Wine - white wine is refreshing in the summer, but red is warming in the Winter! Wineries are a perfect venue to enjoy open fires, live music, local produce and of course lots of delicious wines! Sea & Vines celebrate their 25th anniversary this year. The event is held in McLaren Vale from 05th  - 08th June with over 38 events showcasing 26 wineries. Winter Reds is held in Adelaide Hills from 28-30th July which features events from over 30 wineries.
  4. Adelaide Cabaret Festival - for 14 nights in June, the Adelaide Festival Centre will host this festival. There are lots of different events to choose from - music, cabaret, comedy, theatre etc. The Wintergarden has also moved to the riverdeck so you can enjoy food & drinks before and after shows.
